Scholarships
American Legion Post 29 offers a number of scholarships and other resources to assist young people in their pursuit of higher education. There are opportunities for everyone, including kin of wartime veterans and participants in Legion programs.
Nursing School Scholarship
Nurses Training Scholarship: This scholarship is available through the Forty and Eight organization. It provides support for nurses in training. You can find the application form and other relevant information on their website.
Dan Pipher Scholarship
Dan Pipher Scholarship Fund was established to honor Dan Pipher who was an integral part of our Post 29 American Family. Dan was a member of the American Legion, The Sons of the American Legion and he Post 29 American Legion Color Guard. After Dan’s passing the SAL felt compelled to honor Dan, thus we established a scholarship in Dan’s name at Kennesaw State University.
This scholarship is available to currently serving military, veterans and family members of veterans who maintain a certain grade point average and are deemed needy of financial assistance. This scholarship fund is an endowment that will pay a student $1,000 a year. It is the first scholarship established at Kennesaw State funded by an American Legion post.
